Potential Exam event related dates in 2016 - PJW - 24-01-2016

Early warnings:
  • Exam Review may well be 17th March- subject to confirmation
  • Signet Exam Workshop (possibly similar format to last year with mod2 /3/5 options) is expected to be held 2nd / 3rd July (i.e just after date by which people will have had to commit to entry for the October 2016 exam)
  • Hoping to run a mod1/7 day sometime around April time and perhaps a mod 4/6 in May or June but no certainty re these yet.

Aiming for Mod 1/7 In Birmingham Sat 24th April.
Flyer should be distributed to those on YM mailing list within a couple of week; will post on this site when out.

IRSE YM seminar & Exam review is now advertised as March 17th:

IRSE – YOUNGER MEMBERS: 
Half Day Seminar, AGM and Exam Review

Date: 13:00 - Thursday 17th March 2016
Venue: Manufacturing Room, 1 Birdcage Walk, Westminster

The Annual General Meeting of the IRSE Younger Members is being held at 1 Birdcage Walk on Thursday the 17th March 2016. Members and Non-Members are invited to attend the proceedings, the short AGM will be followed by a half day Seminar in the afternoon and the IRSE Exam Review from 17:00 in the evening.
We are delighted to welcome a range of experienced speakers. Karl King (Mott MacDonald), ToSum Chan (RSSB), David Nicholson (Atkins), and a regular at IRSE Younger Members events Peter Woodbridge. This event is ideal for those looking to sit the IRSE exams in the coming year and those wishing to expand their knowledge and network with likeminded individuals. The schedule for the day is as follows:
13:00 – 13:15 Registration – Tea and Coffee
13:15 – 13:30 AGM – IRSE YM Committee
13:30 – 14:15 Roles of RSSB to the Railway Industry – ToSum Chan - RSSB
14:15 – 14:30 IRSE YM Events – Helen Kellaway and Matt Slade
14:30 – 15:15 Systems Engineering Framework for Railway Control & Safety Systems - Karl King - Mott MacDonald
15:15 – 15:30 Tea and Coffee Break
15:30 – 16:15 Competency Management – David Nicholson – Atkins
16:15 – 17:00 Preparing for the IRSE Exams – Peter Woodbridge – IRSE Exam Forum
17:00 – 17:30 Registration for IRSE Exam Review
17:30 – 19:00 IRSE Exam Review, IRSE Exam Committee

Following the Seminar IRSE Exam Committee will be hosting the evenings Exam Review, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions about last year’s exams and provide insight into what constitutes good answers to the exam questions. The review is a great opportunity to anyone looking to sit the exams in the coming year.
On the day, registration for the AGM and Seminar is 13:00 – 13:15, tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. For those wishing to only attend the Exam Review registration will be 17:00-17:30. 
Everyone is welcome to attend, for all or part of the day, if you wish to do so please send an email to younger.members@irse.org with the information contained in the table below.
Numbers are limited so please respond as soon as possible to avoid disappointment and we look forward to seeing you all there.

By that date, I'd expect:
1. Details regarding registration for both the mod1/mod7 Saturday and the Mod2/3/5 Weekend workshops to have been published
2. The 2015 candidates finally knowing their outcomes
so no remaining excuses for people not embarking on their studying. 

See recent IRSE News where Francis How gave some initial information as a result of the recent "Survey Monkey" poll of the 2015 exam registrants.  Expect to find a further update and information regarding IRSE Exam 2016 in the following IRSE News.
