The RAIB Fletton Jt report raises some interesting points/questions about signal/sign placement on a mixed traffic railway. It also discusses changes of speed (risk verses performance).
Using accident data to support assumptions (which you should always write down when answering a question) and points you are trying to make is a positive method. Staplehurst is one of my go-to accidents.
