IRSE Exam Centres in Florida (USA) - balakrishnan.irse - 08-02-2018
Hi
Myself Balakrishnan, currently working in Alstom Systems India, Bangalore. I came to Jacksonville, Florida, USA for an onsite assignment for two months. Here, some of my colleagues are willing to apply for the membership and take up the exam this year. Can any one reply with the list of exam centers in USA especially Florida state?

It is fair to say that generally IRSE Exam is not held in the USA. However IRSE do say that they would make efforts to facilitate for candidates and all that is really needed is for a FIRSE and MIRSE to make themselves available to invigilator and some appropriate venue found. Obviously a one-off person is difficult (but certainly has been done in Australia in the past) but if there is a group, even if not doing the same module, then this adds weight. If warranted, I imagine that they’d attempt to place a centre where the candidates are located.
Certainly I would second Jerry’s advice to contact the IRSE sooner rather than later.
A couple of things though:
1. Time is running out to submit (Affiliate) membership forms to enable the booking of the exam in June (if not already in membership)
2. You will need to find yourself an MIRSE that is prepared to sponsor you; it is getting to the time that they will want to see your Study Plan (I have just begun to meet with my candidates for this year) within the next month I guess. Depending on current level of experience and preparation, doing a module in October may be a big ask.
