On the whole this looks like a good answer to me.
I think the latter part of the question is asking how the information you have gathered will be used overall, i.e. what processes the model may feed into, in effect how will this model initiate a V cycle? I think the response you have given is good, it may also be worthwhile linking this to informing requirements specifications documents. For example your model would be likely to inform operational requirements specifications (you hint at this talking about normal and degraded working), client requirements documents or system architecture models.
From my perspective the overall answer to the question would have scored highly as written so well done.
