Aspect sequence and headway
#1
[attachment=12] Powerpoint presentation used at London Study Group which I have been asked to make available- may be of some use even without the words of explanation. First attempt to post unsuccessful (probably too large), so split into 2 and then 4- can't get any to attach even though smaller than others which has worked- suspect that it doesn't like Powerpoint!)

Note:
1. applicable to NR environment,
2. first consideration of stopping headway is "quick and dirty"- useful to do in your head during the reading time to work out whether it is the stopping or non-stopping headway requirement that is likely to be the more onerous,
3. the distance / time diagrams are shown with time across the page (whereas the more usual depiction is from bottom to top); Powerpoint doesn't do "portrait"),
4. calculations not presented as a model answer, but to show the concept
5.DGR method is shown- beware using in the exam without sufficient explanation (particularly the significance of N) since the examiners may suspect that you do not properly comprehend the significance of what you are doing. See the Study Pack.Rolleyes

Did anyone spot Peter's deliberate mistake on slide 25? I've attached an amended version here. [attachment=13]

Can a worthy student please comment on what the error was?

Peter
