The more experience you have of the task at the right level, the easier it is to demonstrate it. It is rare that a PE will necessarily cover all the criteria in their day job and may have to request tasks outside their remit to gain the correct experience[s].
The CAC [and exam syllabus] are good places to start just as the EC(UK) criteria are for EngTech/IEng/CEng.
